Fuel line covers finished
« on: February 14, 2020, 12:42:54 PM »
I finally made up my fuel line covers using material from a scrap fuel tank cover which was too far gone to save. It can live on in various other forms of half-track parts! I made a paperboard template, cut & finished and laid out the metal and then had a local fabrication shop bend them up on their press brake.

I’d like to offer this tip to anyone else who may need to scratch-build something similar:
Make your template out of something which if you screw it up, it can actually be a positive thing, necessitating getting more of the same “template material”.

You’re welcome.

They look great Jon.  When you get more "template material" for other projects, I'll take the contents off your hands!  Great tip!

Awesome job!  I have too much template material laying around, is that a problem?

Working on the halftracks is no easy task. You must stay relaxed and well hydrated.

This is good, sage advice and we would all do well to remember it.
