Which publication shows the various halftrack armour?
« on: July 22, 2020, 05:16:16 AM »
Can some one tell me which publication shows the various armour plates for the halftrack?

I bought the Ordnance Supply Catalog TM9-710 but that shows pretty much everything except the armour plate.

You might want to check TM9-1710C Chassis and Body for Half-track vehicles. Or check the thread by Steve-O to see which manual you can use.

There is no actual publication that shows each armor piece. I have seen a workers pamphlet once that showed outer dimensions once but nothing really available like what you are asking. In the ord 9 will list each plate I think but no diagrams. Also, as I said many times, Any halftrack owner should spend the money and get the complete set of manuals. They are not that expensive. Portrayal press carries most manuals and I sell the Base Shop Data Book.

Thanks Gents, my main aim was to try and identify what flooring and track armour would be common between an M3 and M16. There’s a lot of repro M3 parts including floor available but I’ve not found anything for the M16. BAIV have the M16 side armour so I could purchase the missing parts I would require for that but it’s the floor that I think will be the issue.

In a way I’m just trying to decide if I go down the M3 or M16 route, I’ve got 4 M2HBs in my weapon collection and can get hold of a Maxon M45 (no spacer rings though).

I will be buying the relevant publications as I go and I’ll be in touch with Steve for the base manual when I’m over in California in Feb.

M3 and M16 don't share much of the floor if anything.

M16 floors are available if you ask around as those boxs seem to be in alot of rebuilds in 50s.  Most people take then out to restore as a m3 floor since people are repo those
center section and bulkhead are only difference between models .  Track armor is same

Spacer rings  6 -10 ..I have a set of repo for sale if you need. California
