Halftrack for sale at auction in Kansas - no affiliation

I don't know anything about this, but I had a friend text it to me.  Only 2 days'ish left and the price is very reasonable at the moment.

Not sure what is going on here, tag says M2 rebuilt to M2A1 and it is sitting on a M3 frame that was converted to M16?  Alright bed with the quad mount holes still there.   The tag is listed in the registry as a winch model M2, this sure is not one.  Tag must have been switched at some time maybe?

Is that the correct rear armor for a M16 since it doesn't fold? I don't  know enough about those models.

No.  Its m3 side cut into.   Most likely a b&m rebuild m16a1 in 50s for Korean War with the quad mount floor added..
Someone added the m2 tag on dash does not belong to that halftrack
Great start and easy fix to turn back into m3

If the owner of the M2 in California still has the track, bet he would like to have the data plate back.
