1st Halftrack
« on: April 04, 2012, 06:15:52 PM »
Today I found the paper work for my first halftrack! I got it in January of 1988. It was a M3 with full armor, it ran great, it would fire right up, and the seller relined the gas tanks for me.
Ok, M3, full armor, relined gas tanks, and it was a great runner, what did I pay?
Drum roll, $4500.

Steve
I was offered a Stuart tank in 1989 for $15000 or $18000, I do not remember now. I turned it down because I had orders to Japan. That was the time frame also I had to sell the M3, due to orders. I had the M3 till the end of 1989, so I owned it for almost 2 years. That was the tough part of being a military vehicle collector, and being in the military.
