hello phil
the pintle hitch used in the halftrack was also used in just about every other ww2 vehicle except the jeeps. even the trailers had pintles on back. trailers are are a good place to find one since trailers where rarely used to pull other trailers and the hitches will be in new shape. i pulled a couple off m5 bomb trailers and one off a semi trailer.

Steve,

The length of the shaft maybe a little different from vehicle to vehicle. (CCKW, Halftrack, Scout Car, etc.)

i remember seeing one at tower park someone was selling that was shorter than the one used in the halftrack. i should have mentioned that in my post.
the ones used in the halftrack had a shaft length of 14".    i checked the ones i have from the m5 bomb trailers the semi trailer the autocar 7144 trucks the federals and they are also 14". i just sold my cckw trucks so i cant check those.

Phil,
What exactly do you need? If you just need the nut I may be able to help you. I picked up a damaged pintle at Tower Park to use as parts. If you still need the nut I have one $20. PM me if interested
