I have a feeling he paid someone else to restore it and has tons of money in it.

According to Mr. Hebding that is a restoration by Ron from MVRR and a previously restored M2 was appraised at $200,000.

Do I believe any halftrack short of a M16 with 4 registered M2HBs is worth that much, no.  Could someone have that much invested in one, hell yes.  Will anyone pay much for one, I doubt it.  It does want me to get mine appraised for insurance purposes.

I agree it is gorgeous but I doubt anyone will pay anywhere near that price for it. History is replete with examples of people paying to have things restored that they then can't sell for anywhere close to what they have in it. I can think of several warbirds as examples just for starters. Most of the basket case B-25's around are like that, would cost much more to make airworthy than you can buy a restored flyer for. Having said that I hope he gets his price. :)

60 bucks an hour and 2000 hours add up pretty quickly to a large number.

(we'd HOPE THOUGH, and GOOD LUCK too seller)   not many things anymore worth restoring and trying to make money,, i have about 10 high end mopars, A12's, 440/6 pac challengers etc,,, and still there is not much to make if i do ALL the work MYSELF,(but i'm NOt selling), sign of the times,,,  hhhmmm  remember when in 08-09  you'd here about people burning there houses down,,,,  after an appraisal...  i hope not...  and i actually bought one of those houses and 17 acres.. LOL  also many high end cars have  mysteriously have been burning up in barn fires........  sad..... lots of winged mopars etc....

they tripled the appraisal  on that to get a good tax write off when it was donated to a museum

maybe they will get to that point some day.... and on that day im going into full time halftrack restoring..  ;D ;D

i think it might need about 15 quads in the back.

i did hear that the Belgian army still has hundreds of quads in storage. they are going to be scraped.  >:(

Too bad they will be scrapped, a quad mount would be a really hard thing to reproduce.
