M16A1 halftrack sold at auction in woodland ca
« on: December 14, 2012, 12:40:43 PM »
i was going to bid up to 5k but i guess to many people knew about it.
i had one friend near me that has 3 halftracks bid up to $11,100.
click the bid history and you may recognize some of the other bidders.

M16A1
this halftrack had all original armor. it looks like the front armor was off an m2a1 halftrack.
needs front roller, m16a1 data plate, rear door latch, pedestal mount headlights, ect.
they tried to make it look like an m16 halftrack by cutting the cutting the drops on the top of the rear armor but the cut out pieces are in the rear of the bed and used to reinforce something so it may be easy to put them back.

here is some more info on this halftrack

this was used on hollywood movies and located in southern california.
it was purchased by surplus city in oroiville ca that removed the quad mount in the back and put it in there m16 halftrack that is on display there. it was then put for sale at surplus city and was purchased by a man in Sheraton ca and he used it in local parades.
he went through a bankruptcy and it was auctioned off by west auction.com for$15,000.00. the buyer was sams airpac in rancho cordova ca that is somehow involved in govliquidation.com and has his own site listing there. it was then sold on govliquidation.com for $38,599.00.

how do i know this?
there was an ad on craigs list for a parts halftrack that i purchased for $1000.
he was the man who purchased the halftrack originally from surplus city.
