how to find seal and bearing interchange numbers

how to find seal and bearing interchange numbers.

the best starting point is the ORD 9 ordinance supply catalog, this is a list of all parts for halftrack vehicles.
this catalog has a great cross-reference in the back.
 you can also find #s in the TM9-1710C , TM-710 and TM-1710A
http://archive.org/search.php?query=half-track

find your seal/bearing in the ord 9 then take the ordinance #associated with it to the back of the book and it will cross to the white/autocar/diamond part number. (i use the white #)

then save the bellow timken files to your computer. by doing this you can bring the file up on your computer and it will include a search box. this search box is very important, otherwise you will be searching through thousands of numbers.
put the white (or other) number in the search box and wallaa.

you will have the timken part number which is the same as national and others.
put that number in an ebay search and you will have good quality seals and bearings at a great price.

Steve,

I see the other manuals you listed in the archive link but I don't see the ORD 9 catalog! Am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks,

Paul
