T30 Howitzer Motor Carriage
« on: April 29, 2015, 05:28:38 AM »
Just bought a parts halftrack and on looking it over it seems it might be a T30. It has a White style serial number on an M3 roller model frame. I thought it might be a really early M13 at first but then noticed no holes in the frame to mount the box the quad mount sits on. I think it will run but not sure yet. Anybody interested in the world's hardest halftrack restoration project? In reality it would probably not be as hard to restore as an M15 with the autocannon.

sounds interesting. i had to do a search for t30 to see what one of those things looks like.

is the frame doubled up like on the m16/m15 ?
do you have any pics?

Yep it has the double frame like the M3 and M15 and 16. It is a factory roller model with the early rear idler spring and it appears to have the remains of the platform the howitzer mounted to. It still has an early style wheel with the chevron tire. I'll post up some pics when I get it home I forget to take some earlier. I was gonna pull the motor now not so sure.

This is it, has a White serial number lower than any of the m16's on the g503 list by a good margin.
