Hey I saw blurb on facebook on the convoy, they had a picture of the Halftrack that is on the convoy. Weren't they running the new tracks? I couldn't find the blurb again but they said they a 1000miles on the tracks but they were starting to see some wear so they were on the trailer more. It would be interesting to see some pictures and get an update on how they are wearing. Anyone have some contacts out there.
This would be a real test to see how they run!
Thanks Don G

Halftrack in convoy was hoping to run the new starpoint tracks but production is behind schedule. I rounded up a set of french or izzy tracks for him. They had some flex cracks and about 25% wear at the half way point.
Sure wish starpoint could have came through on having a set to test on this convoy but I know how hard it is to complete a project on a time line when you have a real business to run as well.

That halftrack did have the remanufactured bogie wheels (done in St. Louis) on it and they were still like new at the end of the convoy!

Yes, I set the owner of that halftrack with a set if retread bogie wheels. He told me took it on 3000 miles, with air temperatures of 100F and asphalt temps of 130F. There was no visible wear on the wheels.
