Valve Stem Locks

Are valve stem locks available from only halftrack dealers or has someone found another source. The problem is I can't find any specs on the original valve stem locks regarding size or seating angle.

the scoutcars used a tire lock and some of the early halftracks used the same rims. is that what you are talking about?

No. Engine intake and exhaust valve lock / retainers.

The manuals have no specifications regarding this part. So that is why I was asking if they are only available from halftrack dealers or has someone found a modern replacement.

Hi Scott.    I would take one of your valves to an engine rebuild shop and see what they say. if they can order valves they should be able to order retainers too at least they might be able to point you in the right direction.
