Louvre assembly

Does anyone have a photo of how the Louvres are assembled? My Louvres are dis-assembled but are complete I think. I’d like to straighten the brackets out and reassemble correctly. I did notice one bracket has a pin missing but I’ve seen other like this so it could be correct.

That’s perfect, the second link shows what I was after. Thanks! I was looking for that type of drawing in my manuals.

Next question, I’m removing the right armoured side of the Louvre (the triangle plate with the headlamp bracket) and need to remove the control rod from the bushing at the bottom. I can see a hole which may have a pin in it. Do I knock this through and pull the control rod out of it?

There is no pin. The rod is just fitted through the hole. It is held in place by being held next to the outer plate as seen in photo. if you remove the pivoting bolt it will all come apart.

I removed mine recently and it did not have a pin in the hole highlighted, if it did it would restrict the movement of the control rod I would have thought.

Thanks chaps, I had the same thought, that a pin would stop any movement of the rod in the bush, but then I thought “well may be the bush should move”. Well I’ll give it a go this afternoon.

Well I’ve got the passenger side triangular armour plate removed and all that’s left no is to remove the bushing swivel plate from the control rod. The rod is seized into the bush but it doesn’t look rusty. I’ve drenched it in a penetrating fluid and I’ll see if I can shift it tomorrow.

Heat, heat, and heat.  Then, some more heat!

Got it out in the end. I disassembled the rod from the lever and removed the whole assembly. Heated it up to cherry and dropped some oil into the centre of the bush and then tapped it out. The bush is shot so I’m knocking up a new one.
