Generator info needed
« on: March 25, 2026, 03:39:00 PM »
The generator on my halftrack died and it is at the electrical shop now.  There is no data tag or P/N on the generator and the electrical shop needs to know exactly what it is.  Does anyone know the Delco-Remy P/N for the generator?  TM9-1711 manual lists "MFRS # as 000985" but this doesn't match any of the shops data books.  Thanks.

If you have the ord 9 parts book, it is in there. There are at least two different parts numbers. One for a shielded generator and one for a non shielded generator. I'm at work now so I can't look. This is another example of having a complete set of manuals. They are not that expensive.

I had the ord 9 but I can’t find it.  My generator is the unshielded one.

The tag on mine reads Model 985. There is no part number on the tag. It is a shielded generator.

Thanks for helping.  985 agrees with the 1711 manual so the electrical shop will go with that.

According to to the ORD 9 supply catalog, for an un shielded generator
stock number G102-0202217
manufacturer number DR-1901958
model number 985

Hope this helps

Thanks for looking that up.  I’ve passed on the info.  I’m waiting for the shop to get back to me
