The tracks look decent, looks like a good starting point. But knowing what I know about halftracks now, someone would have to out just give me one before I'd start on another one

It is alot of work but well worth it in the end. The 2 green tracks have already had the bogies gone through with new bearings as nessary and road wheels replaced. One has 90% tracks and the other one has probably 60 to 70%.

Hey if you get  chance could you take some detail pictures of the winch set up on the orange track? If I build another one I was contemplating building a recovery track with a winch setup like that in the back.

Any chance you can get the serial numbers from the dataplates or left front frame rails? At least two look like early models. I'd like to add them to the database of survivors. Thanks!

Well i dont know what happened to the pictures but here they are.

That is the data plates off of the 2 early tracks. Never noticed the artillery crossed cannons before on the M2. Were they all that way? The M2A1 plate is totally different but still and early track.

229858 is the oldest known surviving White built halftrack, finished in May 41. Its about the 40th halftrack they made.

If you have the chance sometime to recover the USA registration number from hood sides that would be really cool. Thanks!

And those are blue letters. Someone said that the blue letters and numbers were the factory numbers and that one they were delivered to Army they were renumbered. I don't know.

Is this the one painted light green in your pictures? 4010777 is the number I was expecting so that is nice. Early on they used the blue lettering with the preceding 'W'. Later they went to white and dropped the 'W'. There is a picture of the first m2 delivered by White and the number is 4010737.

That is WAY COOL!  Here are the numbers off of the other 2 tracks. 4028273 is the numbers off a friend of mines track also.

229905 is one of yours also? We have been collecting data for the database for about 7 years and never recorded any serial numbers lower than 230002 until the last 3 weeks, now 3 in the 22xxxx range have appeared. Amazing.

229905 is one of mine also. What would the hood numbers be for it? By my thinking it would be #87 in production. I have 4 total in need of restoration. Wife says i have to sell something before i can start on one. O well just about done with the  WC-63. 4028273 Hood number is a friend on mines track and is orginal to the hood. His frame # is M3-963
