Adding blinkers to a ht wiring system
« on: February 15, 2014, 07:28:23 AM »
Here is what I believe is the wiring diagram I used to wire my ht. I thought others might be interested in how to add blinkers to there systems without adding additional lights.

The basics of this are:

1) Replace right tail light with a left side tail light.

2) Use the wire in the rear harness for the black out brake light as the right stop / turn wire.

3) add a wire in the front harness to the right blackout light.

4) take the cats eyes out of 2 old front blackout light lens and add yellow bulbs to the lights.

5) Add a wire from the left tail light to the right side for the "tail light" circuit.

Steve, what did you use as the turn signal switch?
I still have my main and rear wiring harness out of the track, so maybe might do this

I used a Signal Stat 900. They are available at your hd truck parts outlets. They are a good commercial unit that has been made for many decades, and as such will take getting wet and other atrocities without burning up.
