Gun Mounts Exportable???
« on: November 14, 2014, 12:17:48 AM »
I would like to have a M25 pedestal and an M23 cradle assembly for my halftrack restoration. Would anyone be able to advise me if these items are able to be exported from the US or are they a restricted item??

The guys at BMG parts should know what can be shipped and to where, I have dealt with them in the past and they seem to be a knowledgable and helpful group,if a little on the high side.

If you talk to the guy at BMG parts he will tell you that gun mounts and cradles are not allowed to be exported outside of the US. I think this was discussed on the G503 site somewhere. The M23 cradle is a common postwar cradle and should be easier to find anywhere. As for the M25 pedestal mount. this is easy to make. The socket itself can be found on eBay and the rest of the mount can be made. I'm sure there is a member that can help with that. You might try eBay for the M23 cradle to just make sure they will ship first. Hope this helps.

I have bought 30/50 cradles out of the USA with no issues, and the sender marked what they were. But the m23 cradles are everywhere, Im just not fond of them. Bmg will ship nothing out of the usa, I was told its just easier for them not to have to keep up with laws of export

It seems like I see a lot of this type of stuff on ebay, listed from people over in Europe, I would think it would be easier to find something from the country you live in, not sure how all the european countries feel about this type of thing though.
