Two halftracks sitting side by side @ 12TH Armored Division Memorial Museum

First one is off limits its on loan from USA TACOM? Anyway its a survivor I think its an M2 Serial Number on the frame is 232367

The second one is the one the Museum is going to let me play with. Its an M3-A1- 47728

I'll be needing a windshield frame, vertical hood armor both sides, a complete roller assembly

Only data plates on either HT are on the engine which are illegible.

 If possible please confirm frame numbers and add any data plate info. The M3A1 number is off the frame?? Is there a dash after the M3A1 or is the number all strung together??

 So the 232367 is for sure. You think it is a M2 and that would be correct.
 M3A1-47728 does have a dash between model and five digit serial #
 and there are no data plates???

 No data plates - understood. OK I posted the two vehicles on the list. M2 232367 with no data plate I could get close to a hood number but without the ord # off the data plate no sure method.
 M3A1-47728 this probably was a rebuilt M3-75 Gun motor carriage (tank destroyer). Autocar built the M3-75 and had the contract to rebuild them into M3A1s. Check to see if another frame number was above the current number. It is usually gouged or ground and is hard to read but many have been able to decipher it. This would help if you could check please.
 Let me know if they both have rollers or winch setups.

M3 is missing a roller assembly

 M3 having a roller makes me even more confident that it was probably a tank destroyer when built. Check frame right above or below the existing number for evidence of a M3-75-xxxx number.
