Need help with top roller brg
« on: January 27, 2023, 04:52:31 PM »
I've been working on restoring the top roller assemblies.  The bearings are in good shape; however, I would like to remove them prior to bead blasting the rollers.  Is there a method to remove the bearings without destroying them in the process?  Thanks, DW

Once the seals are removed a brass drift through the center should be ok. As long as you are not having the go full hulk on them they should be ok to reuse. Ok course you might find they are needing replacement once they are out. Mine felt ok but had mild flaking. Best of luck.

A piece of 1/2” water pipe about 2’ long works real well.

Greatly appreciate the help.  The 1/2" pipe worked well.  Just a few moderate taps and the bearings are out.  DW
