The parade was great and Don did a fantastic job on his eye candy. ;)Our clubs entry took second place for the event. I only got one photo for the day so here it is. We had three Steve's in the halftrack. Don was the odd one. Sorry for the blurred photo, the halftrack wouldn't hold still. ;D

Well what do you do on a 90' day? If your me you decide to install your perimeter rail  What an interesting project. Lots of drilling. I'll try to get some shots tomorrow.

Don, beings you have that perimeter rail handy, what is the width at the very front? Need to build one and everything is obvious except the front width.

I need to build two perimeter rails. I just picked up the material at the convention from Outsider. Really nice stuff btw. Did you use the track to as a jig to mock it up. Curious how you went about it. Thanks yours came out really nice too.

Torque, I'll get the measurement for you tonight when I get home.  ;)

Wayoff, My track had the front part of the original P-rail from the windshield to the B-pillar. When I went to put it back on I figured out real quick that it was not going to fit, it was too narrow. So I had to cut the angles at the windshield corners to relieve it to move. I think that I would fit the long sides from the B-piller back and fit the rear. Then mount front piece. then figure your angles for the B-piller to the windshield. So to answer the question I would use the track to jig it up. I marked and drilled the holes while it was on the track also. Plus drilled the holes for the canvas bowes at the same time.

Don, do you have a train track running past your front yard?

BTW, nice work on the perimeter rail.  :)

It's pretty cool. Here is a video of it. I will let Don give the specifics. The first time I went out to his place it wand like never mind the halftracks, let's talk trains. ;D

The angle Iron that attaches to the wind shield and holds the front of the perimeter rail is 1 1/2x 1 1/2 x 3/16's It is 60 !/2 inches. The front of the perimeter rail is also 60 1/2 inches. I'll load up some detail pictures tomorrow.

Tom before I got bit by the OD bug so hard. I started working on my railroad. It is all 18" mining equipment. The gray locomotive  is a 1905 Porter compressed air locomotive, that ran in the Homestake mine in Lead SD. Now that I'm winding down on the HT I can start putting more time back into the railroad. I've got about 700' of track down right now. Wouldn't want to get bored!

Thanks, Don. In your first picture are there bends in the rail at both the front and rear of the narrow armor? I thought maybe the front was just shimmed for the angle of the rail?
