230615 is the one that I want to restore for myself. It has no hood as of now but i have orginal armor for it. Wonder what type of hood number it would have?

230065 is probably 4010982.

The other track in the 22 range is 229945 Ord#658, hood sides are missing but is probably 4010856. There is a picture taken on 6-6-41 of a test drive of halftracks outside the factory thru Euclid Creek in Ohio. Visible usa numbers are in the range of 4010841 thru 4010871.

Sometimes you might find the USA number stamped on the bogie housing under the top roller guide for the tracks.

Quote
4028273 Hood number is a friend on mines track and is orginal to the hood. His frame # is M3-963

Does he know if that hood is original to the track? M3-963 is the 963rd Autocar M3, probably built in Jan or Feb of 42. If he can check the front bumper area carefully he might find the USA number stamped on it. I think its original USA number would have been 6 digits instead of 7, i'm guessing 400841.

Here is an example of a bumper number stamping on a winch model. All the ones I've seen including my roller model M3 have the stamping on the passenger side. 229945 is on the way to the halftrack ranch in Colorado.
